ST POL BEACH

It belongs to the municipality of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, at first it was the beach that was used by people from the sorrounding area, as the beach of St Feliu was practically unusable. On the other hand, it had easy access through the train to the inhabitants of Gerona.

It has a very good orientation and its waters are shallow, fit for children's enjoyment.

In the western, there were the first villa for summer, the villa Pere Màrtir Estrada i Cama, under the nickname "Xalet de les Puntes" and the villas of the families Girbau-Estrada, Surís-Estrada and Fita-Estrada, which were built years later between 1911 and 1915.

It was in the summer of 1919 when Sr.Manuel Bosch had twenty BEACH HUTS who sold them Sr.Vicens Gandol, de Ribot Font i Artigues "SARFA" and Sr.Ensesa, and in 1920 THE WAVE BATHS on the St Pol beach and the regular bus line of St.Feliu and St Pol were inaugurated. And so his fame grew.

And in 1929 the RESTAURANT LA TAVERNA DEL MAR was built, as an annex to the baths of St.Pol, which was later reformed for its inauguration in 1936, by the architect Sr.Rafael Masó and later Francesc Folguera.
